Okay, I’m back, and so are Cage the Elephant, absolutely buzzing on today’s announcement, all the bias is coming into play on this one from me.
The new single Out Loud is an intricate piano ballad from Matt Shultz, perfectly crafted with co-writer Caitlyn Smith. Matt recently put out a heartfelt message about his own mental health, and his prior conviction on his personal instagram and the band’s account which is perfectly summed up in the track. Cage the Elephant don't release too many piano ballads but when they do, they're definitely something to behold.
This song is truly touching and it feels incredibly personal, it might be one of my favourites the band have ever released. Howl’s own Evie put it perfectly “very vulnerable without being cringe”.
With this song, the new album has been announced, named after the first single of the same name, Neon Pill, and a North America tour consisting of 45 dates. Support coming from Bakar and Young the Giant.
Expect more bias from me on anything Cage puts out, you already know I’ve splashed £60 on the pre-order of this new record.
